Position Summary

Coordinate photography and diagnostic services and perform ophthalmic photography for diagnostic, documentation, and educational purposes in the clinic. This position is a shared position that will rotate two weeks at our Northeast office and two weeks at our West Columbia or Forest Drive location.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical ophthalmic photography and diagnostic photographic studies.
  • Conduct photographic studies and collaborate on photographic services for research projects with other departments.
  • Maintain certification in order to meet required criteria for research studies.
  • Participate in the training of technicians in the role of ophthalmic photography for clinical and diagnostic procedures.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Minimum Demonstrated Skills/Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms, and ocular medications
  •  Has a working understanding of fundus photos and fluoroscein angiography
  •  Understands and follows protocol for procedural consents
  •  Multi-tasking and listening skills
  • Cooperates with supervisory staff, physicians, peers, external customers, and patients in a positive, energetic, and professional manner
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively convey ideas and information
  • Creative idea-generating individual with excellent follow through abilities
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • COA strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Ophthalmology with a minimum of 1 year in Photography
Physical requirements:
Ability to view patient images and operate computer devices, frequent use of a computer terminal.  Ability to communicate via speech and hearing.  Must be able to stand, walk, bend at knees and waist, raise arms over head, & lift up to 35 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation.
