Palmetto Retina Center, a busy 10-physician Ophthalmology practice specializing in retina diseases, is currently seeking an experienced Patient Services Representative with 1+ years of experience for a full-time position in our call center. This candidate will answer patient questions, triage calls, and schedule /reschedule appointments. This position is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt role that reports to the call center manager.

Responsibilities

Responsible for answering phone calls, registering patients, monitoring referrals, and scheduling appointments.

Skills & Qualifications

Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Minimum Background Requirements:
  • 1 year of customer service experience required
  • Previous medical call center experience required, preferred ophthalmic experience. 
  • Computer Skills: 1 year 
Minimum Demonstrated Skills/Qualifications:
•Position requires accuracy, thoroughness, and an understanding of insurance, referral procedures, and authorizations.
•Work is fast-paced and multi-tasked.
•Requires ability to work as a team member.
•Skill in operating computers, word processing software, fax machines, and copier machines.
•Creative idea-generating individual with excellent follow-through abilities

Physical Demands:
•Requires sitting for long periods with occasional bending required.
•Must be able to view and enter data into the computer for extended periods.
•Must be able to communicate via the telephone.
